HQ MNC NE exercised its deployment capabilities with all of its supporting elements during Baltic Effort Exercise, conducted in the Baltic Barracks from 12th to 14th June.
The purpose of that exercise was to train HQ MNC NE deployment and redeployment planning in cooperation with Airport Goleniów and Drobnica Seaport Szczecin and also to depict procedures for a deployment operation with the focus on Afghanistan, in order to ensure the ability to deploy within 180 days after notification. Furthermore, the briefers form the different NATO Headquarters i.e. Headquarters Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) shared their knowledge and experiences about different military deployment concepts and how they work out in reality. For us it was very important to talk about different deployment requirements especially in reference to former and ongoing ISAF missions. This knowledge is invaluable for us because it gives us proper frames for the HQ predeployment preparations and we can base on others HQs solutions and lessons learnt – said LtCol Z. Sliwa from the Movement and transportation branch.
