Air Operations Co-ordination Centre (AOCC) in MNC NE together with the representatives from different NATO Air Force units exercised Combined Air Operation Centre’s (CAOC 1) ability to develop and execute an air campaign, as a part of deployed joint forces in both Peace Support Operations as well as Crisis Respond Operations.
The Exercise Bold Ambition 06 was conducted by Air Operations Co-ordination Centre (AOCC) in HQ MNC NE from 7th to 9th March 2006. AOCC together with the representatives from different NATO Air Force units exercised Combined Air Operation Centre’s (CAOC 1) ability to develop and execute an air campaign, as a part of deployed joint forces in both Peace Support Operations as well as Crisis Respond Operations. All exercise’s participants were training a complex objectives within a single Combined Air Operation Center’s Command and Control, in area of Communications, Co-operation, Co-ordination and Airspace Management functions. The scenario was based in a fictional Horn of Africa country with an "ISAF-like" complexity. The main operational objective for the engaged forces was to provide area of conflict with stability and security for an interim government.
During the exercise the situation on battlefield was evolving from supporting a robust campaign to re-establish interim government control over an insurgent controlled province and on the same time fighting against terrorists. As a result of exercise Bold Ambition 06, the AOCC was able to train the general cooperation with HQ MNC NE as well as different operational requirements related to peace support, peace enforcement and combat operations in area of air support coordination.
