Commander of the Multinational Corps Northeast (MNC NE) Lieutenant General Rainer Korff represented the Corps during the Bi-Land Component Command Corps Commanders’ Conference held from 2nd to 4th February in Strasbourg, France.

The conference was organised by the Allied Land Component Command Headquarters Heidelberg, co-chaired by the Allied Land Component Command Madrid and hosted by the Eurocorps. As usual, commanders or their representatives from all NATO corps and higher commands met to exchange information and check upon current developments within NATO.

For Lieutenant General Rainer Korff, it has been the first conference attended as the Commander of the Multinational Corps Northeast. Therefore, it turned out to be an excellent occasion to get to know with other commanders, establish more personal relations and learn about issues other commands and headquarters are currently working on.

The conference participants discussed, among other things, the current strategy of the Alliance and its future developments. The issue of the Deployable Joint Staff Elements (DJSE) was also raised, just like during the previous conference held in Instanbul in October 2009. The videoconference with Major General Hubert De Vos, Chief of Staff DJSE and Deputy Chief of Staff Resources at the International Security Assistance Force Headquarters in Afghanistan, being accompanied by experts, was one of the highlights of the conference.

The next conference is going to take place in October in Spain.
