A group of 120 children, their mothers, and other members of the Garrison Headquarters took part in the first outside event organised by the Family Care Centre. A trip to the aqua park in German Schwedt was held on 6 March 2010.

On Saturday morning, the families gathered in the Baltic Barracks ready for the water adventure. They got on buses and, at 10:00 sharp, they all set off for Schwedt, a town located around 50 km away from Szczecin. The moods of all passengers, especially children who could not wait to jump into water, were cheerful and fun-oriented.

'It was a real success,' summarized the event Lieutenant Colonel Siegmar Plonka, the Chairman of the Family Care Centre. 'We had a lot of fun in the aqua park,' he said. The children could play together in the water and also refresh themselves with tasty food and drinks. Some of the participants also decided to do some shopping in the nearby city centre, combining business and pleasure.

It is not going to be the last social event organised by the Family Care Centre. Even though the main role of the Centre is to give a helping hand to the families of the deployed servicemen of the Multinational Corps Northeast, the Centre does not forget about making the time until they are back as much enjoyable as possible.
