On 8 January 2012 personnel of the Multinational Corps Northeast (MNC NE) supported the 20th Grand Finale of Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity on Orła Białego Square in Szczecin.
The Headquarters’ personnel joined in the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity for the third time. The money has been collected for the twentieth time already and this year the aim was to sponsor medical equipment for the premature babies and insulin pumps for the pregnant mothers.
The Commander of the MNC NE Lieutenant General Rainer Korff decided to support this noble action in several ways. The multinational personnel of the Headquarters could easily contribute to the action already in early December last year when the money boxes with red hearts – the symbol of the Orchestra – were placed in the Baltic Barracks. Moreover, the Commander put the silver MNC NE Crest, the Invitation for New Year's Reception as well as the VIP visit to the Headquarters and to the German 610th Signal Battalion in Prenzlau for a special auction.
The MNC NE Promotion Tent was pitched on Orła Białego Square in Szczecin on 8 January, the day of the 20th Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. All people visiting the tent donated money for children. To express gratitude for their generosity, they received small gifts, such as MNC NE balloons, pennants, pocket calendars or stickers. An additional attraction was a display of desert uniforms of all eleven nations contributing to the Corps. All visitors also had an opportunity to take a photo in desert uniforms using special photographic backgrounds presenting Danish, German and Polish desert uniforms. Anyone interested in the activities of the Corps could watch a video or see an exhibition on MNC NE. What is more, everyone could try delicious army-style pea soup prepared by military cooks from the Headquarters Company.
To prove the fact that the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, which is among most popular charity organizations in Poland, has also been recognized by other nations as important and worthwhile, representatives of nations working at the Corps were present at the tent the whole day taking an active part in the Orchestra.
