The Commander of the German Army Forces Command (located in KOBLENZ in Germany), Lieutenant General Wolfgang OTTO visited the Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast (HQ MNC NE)
Lieutenant General W. Otto was officially welcomed by the Commander of MNC NE, Lieutenant General Egon Ramms (German Army), by the Deputy Commander of MNC NE, Major General Jan Brun Andersen (Danish Army) and the currently acting Chief of Staff, Colonel Andrzej Golebiewski (Polish Army). During his one - day visit, Lieutenant General W. Otto was introduced to Multinational Corps Northeast issues like the imminent NATO certification, the so–called Full Operational Capability (FOC) test during the NATO multinational exercise "Compact Eagle 2005" scheduled to take place in Szczecin from October 31th to November 12th, 2005. Furthermore, he discussed the MNC NE future role both in the Baltic Region and as a potential Headquarters in Afghanistan in 2007. Finally the various aspects of the MNC NE integration within the Polish local society were also mentioned. In the afternoon national meetings were hold with the German members of the HQ - officers as well as Non – Commissioned officers and privates during which the various aspects of German contribution to HQ MNC NE were discussed. Lieutenant General Wolfgang Otto took over the post of the Commander of the German Army Force Command on June 27th, 2005. During the previous years he was stationed for example as the Commander of the Infantry Brigade 41 in Eggesin, Germany (1999) and later he was posted as a Deputy Personnel Branch Chief in the German Ministry of Defence in Bonn (2000 – 2002).
