The annual Project - Aliante 2005 has gathered a number of students from the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Ukraine. The competition "Project - Alliante 2005" is unique in its purpose and it aims to inspire the college students to have a keen interest in NATO and security policy in general. The main purpose of that international project is to create the positive perception of participating countries as allies and to sustain the international cooperation among the students. The success of the annual "Project - Alliante 2005" is the principle reason why NATO HQ as well as various national institutions and non-governmental organizations support the project. Furthermore, the "Project - Alliante" is regarded as a complex programme with the objective to disseminate information about NATO, it values as well as to change the opinion on NATO that still prevails in Ukraine. The visit in the Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast is part of the winners’ prize trip that includes a 10-days tour program: Krakow – Prague - Kutna Hora – Szczecin – Wieliczka – Kiev. The winners’ trip tries to combine the education with the leisure activities, so that the participants are able to see the most famous tourist attractions on the one hand and collect valuable experience and knowledge on the other. In the Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast LtCol Uwe Semprich briefed the students on the mission and the organisation of Multinational Corps Northeast. The presentation also introduced essential information about the history and general organisation of MNC NE with emphasis on multi-nationalism and internal integration among soldiers from different nations. The briefing was followed by an extended question and answer period, which showed that the student already had a good and detailed knowledge about NATO and related issues in general.
