After 15 months of preparation Exercise COMPACT EAGLE 2005 (EX CE 05) took finally place from 31st October to 11th November.
The Exercise itself was designed to train participants in High Intensity Warfighting, to train the Corps transition into Peace Support Operations and the HQ’s ability to demonstrate the Full Operational Capability (FOC).
On the other hand, the evaluation team from NATO Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) in Belgium observed and appraised all activities undertaken during exercise. 22 persons from Deployable Headquarters Task Force (DHQTF) set a watch and checked how the FOC was fulfilled. Immediately after the exercise Lieutenant General Egon Ramms announced that the Corps passed the FOC test and soon would be certified as a Deployable Headquarters of the NATO Force Structure. The evaluation report will be prepared during the following weeks and will be forwarded to SACEUR in SHAPE for the final approval. Nevertheless, in the upcoming weeks the MNC NE personnel will try to collect all analyses and lessons learnt into the most comprehensive exercise summary for the further improvement.
