Slovak community from MNC NE together with other members of the HQ gathered in the Garrison Church in Szczecin at the mass and prayers to commemorate 42 Slovak soldiers who died during airplane crash in the North-East Hungary.
The service was held by the HQ chaplain LTC Jan Wołyniec.
Slovak military airplane An-24 crushed in the evening hours on the 19th of January 2006, 20 km from the Košice airport. Soldiers were on their way home from the peacekeeping mission KFOR in Kosovo. Only one survived. Currently there are 8 officers and 2 non-commisioned officers from Slovakia serving in MNC NE in szczecin. Whole community is composed of 26 persons. The flag of the Slovak republic was officially raised in the Corps exactly one year ago.
