Students from the Potsdam University came to visit the Headquarters to learn about the multinational military organization as well as NATO itself.
LtCol Uwe Semprich, Chief VOB (DEU A) briefed group on the Corps history, structure and deployment to Afghanistan in 2007. There are many challenges ahead of the Corps before carrying out peace support operation tasks.
MNC NE needs to reinforce its manpower by additional personnel, change the structure and go through additional trainings and exercises – said LtCol Semprich during the presentation. All these issues are very time consuming so the Corps already started preparations. "I realized how difficult is to pull so many nations together to make an effective military organization" – said one of the German students. But there are also advantages. Nations can learn one from another at the professional and cultural level – he added. Briefing was followed by the lively panel discussion with the students.
