Acting Chief of Estonian Land Forces Lieutenant Colonel Meelis Kiili visited Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast (HQ MNC NE).
The talks with the Deputy Commander Major General Jan Brun Andersen focused on expending the military cooperation between Estonia and HQ MNC NE. LTC Meelis Kiili was also briefed on the Corps issues such as: history, organization, future tasks and challenges before deployment to Afghanistan. Finally the possibility of extending the amount of Estonian officers serving in the Corps was discussed. Lieutenant Colonel Meelis Kiili took over the post of the Chief of Land Forces Staff, acting Chief of Land Forces in 2004. During the previous years he was stationed as the Deputy Commander, Estonian Coy of Baltic Battalion (1994) and later he was posted as a Chief of Staff and Commander of Peace Operations Centre (1997 – 2000).
