For the first time the HQ MNC NE’s Allied Sports Club Soccer Branch organised an indoor soccer tournament.
On 28th March, for the first time the HQ MNC NE’s Allied Sports Club Soccer Branch organised an indoor soccer tournament. The gauntlet was taken up by following teams from Szczecin: 5th Engineer Regiment, 12th Headquarters Battalion, 3rd Air Defense Regiment, Police Provincial Headquarters, 12th Reconnaissance Battalion, Garrison Orchestra and 12th Mechanized Brigade. MNC NE’s Chief of Staff Brigadier General Henryk Skarzyński opened the tournament with an inauguration speech, wishing all participants’ sportsmanship and good luck.
The tournament programme included a semi - final and a final cup as well as plays for 7th, 5th, 3rd and for the 1st place. The winner was Police Provincial Headquarters soccer team, which scored for2: 2 draw just 7 seconds before the final whistle. Following this up they finally won in penalties. The HQ MNC NE soccer team achieved the 7th place. – We just showed our "hospitality" to other players – said Maj W. Wiśniewski smiling. The most important was just to start a good tradition of organising soccer competitions and having fun. We hope that in the future the number of participating teams will be increasing, including foreign teams as well – added Wiśniewski.
