On 16th March 2006, Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast welcomed the representatives of the International Non-Governmental Organisation MIROSLAVA International Alliance from Ukraine.
MIROSLAVA organisation carries out a range of various activities in the field of science, culture, and education for the wide society strata of Ukraine. However, the main objective for them is to promote peace strengthening and mutual understanding among people from different countries.
Visiting the Headquarters was a part of study tour for the recently carried out project - "New NATO member: Poland". As HQ MNC NE became a clear evidence of the recent political changes in Poland and a visible sign of successful integration of post – soviet countries’ forces within NATO, the visiting group had a possibility to conduct the interview with the Chief of Staff Brigadier General Henryk Skarżyński. Additionally, the visiting group was shortly briefed on MNC NE’s role both in Baltic Region as well as on the all aspects of the Corps integration within the Polish local society. The presentation included information about the history, general organization of MNC NE. After that, the visitors had an opportunity to visit Szczecin International School, where children of the MNC NE’s officers are attending. Finally, the last point in their itinerary was a participation in the official mass celebrating 61st Anniversary of 12 Mechanized Division in the Szczecin’s Garrison Church.
