On April 4th, the representatives of the working group "Family Care" organised the reconnaissance trip to family care centre (Familien Retreuungs Zentrum) of German military region 87 in Neuenbrandenburg.
Today’s NATO troops can be deployed anywhere in the world. Therefore, the soldiers and their families must be adequately supported and prepared for living in a foreign country during the mission time. In order to face the challenges related to MNC NE deployment to Afghanistan, HQ established a working group that is going to formulate a family care program for the families in a period of the Corps’ deployment.
On April 4th, the representatives of the working group "Family Care" organised a reconnaissance trip to Family Care Centre (Familien Retreuungs Zentrum) of the German Military Region 87 in Neuenbrandenburg. The main reason for visiting the Centre was to gain basic knowledge about the German experiences in running family assistance program.
"It is very important for us, wives of MNC NE’s soldiers to have a possibility to see how such family care centre is functioning, so that we will have a better chance to contribute into our project. Furthermore, I’m expecting to find some inspiring examples of how the family can be effectively supported and how can we transfer those solutions into multinational environment"– said Mrs Cornelia Diederich before setting off.
At the place, the First Lieutenant Braun, who as head of the Family Care cell, welcomed the group. He presented to the visitors a briefing about the German family care system. Undoubtedly, the information and the experiences, which were conveyed during the presentation, will help participants to find the best way of supporting multinational community.
