American and German junior research leaders visiting HQ MNC NE.
Visiting Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast was a part of one-week study tour for American and German junior research leaders, participating in "24th Manfred Wörner – Seminar for the German – American Understanding."
The guiding principle for that seminar was to spread out the international understanding and to strengthen the mutual relation between Atlantic Alliance and Germany. The personal meetings with the German citizens, living inside or outside the country in one hand, and in the other, visiting different EU and NATO institutions, gave participants the comprehensive impression on German involvement in different social, political and military activities. Therefore, visiting Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast was an obvious and unique part of that lecture tour.
Lieutenant General Egon Ramms, the Commander of Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast not only welcomed the guests, but during his briefing he provided the visitors with the essential information about the history of Corps, general organisation of MNC NE underlining multinationalism and the internal integration among the soldiers from different nations. Significantly, integration and multinationalism were the two most common subjects raised by the visitors during the questions and answers period after the briefing.
"During our study tour we have had invaluable chance to meet different examples of German activities in the different dimension – in the social, political and also military level. Whereas, visiting HQ gave us an opportunity to experience how the multinationalism positively influences daily work in army. In my opinion, Multinational Corps Northeast represents the new quality in the military organizations and is a sign of real European integration – said one of the guests. After the briefing the visiting group was invited for a common picture in the Baltic Barracks surroundings and also for the lunch to taste the meal from the real military kitchen.
