Members of the German Karl-Theodor-Molinari-Stiftung visited the Headquarters of the Multinational Corps Northeast.
The 36 members of the German Karl-Theodor-Molinari-Stiftung visited the Headquarters of the Multinational Corps Northeast (HQ MNC NE) together with Polish journalist Janusz Tycner from Warsaw. They came to Szczecin on Sunday (2nd Sep). On their trip-schedule there are also Gdansk, Gdynia, Sopot, Oliva, Malbork, Warsaw and Poznan. The group wants to visit all these places in order to become acquainted with Poland, its culture and its inhabitants more profoundly. One of the main goals of their trip to Poland is to gradually reduce negative stereotypes existing on both sides.
Mrs. Uta Konzuch, one of the members of the Molinari-Foundation, admitted that the rather twisted image of Poland conveyed through the German media is far from the truth and from what she has witnessed so far. She is convinced that in order to get to know the country well and to be able to judge it fairly, one has to visit it.
LtCol Peter Krause, another member of this organization, considers the possibility of free exchange of culture and experience between the countries one of the most important things. Polish-German discussions on an apolitical, interpersonal level enable “an open and free communication and mutual understanding”.
All the members come from the area of the Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr), therefore they have been particularly interested in the visit to the HQ MNC NE. Mr. Krause was impressed how committed people in the Headquarters are and how well the cooperation between so many nations as there are in the HQ MNC NE works.
Things that stroke Mr. Krause most were their extraordinary helpfulness and kindness, even if their foreign language skills are sometimes poor.
The Molinari-Stiftung was founded in 1988, in Bonn by Karl-Theodor Molinari, the former Wehrmacht major and later general of the Bundeswehr. Today, this foundation organizes seminars, which aim mainly at political education of citizens; these seminars also deal with international cooperation.
