Yesterday at 14:50 Polish time, 23 years old Polish NCO Piotr Nita died and three of his colleagues were seriously injured during the bomb attack on their conwoy in Iraq. Soldiers were on the routine mission. Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was laid on the frequented road between two camps - Scania and Echo, 21 kilometers from mid-iraqi town Diwáníja.
Few minutes after the explosion, rescue team and helicopter reached the conwoy, unfortunately doctors were not able to save Nita´s life. Three other soldiers were transported to the Polish military hospital in Diwáníja, their lives are not in danger.
