A group of 46 students from Polish International Secondary School of Sports Championship and Danish Rønne Privatskole from Bornholm visited our Headquarters.
Students listened to a briefing delivered by MAJ Petrulis, the aim of which was to introduce the idea of the Multinational Corps Northeast. Topics raised during the briefing referred among others to the Corps’ history, structure and tasks as well as a recently accomplished mission in Afghanistan, in which the MNC NE personnel participated. Also an issue of multinational relations was discussed creating a link to a broad idea behind Polish and Danish cooperation at school level.
Visit to the Headquarters constituted just a part of a bigger programme conducted by these two schools. Students coming from Poland and Denmark are working together on one project related to ecology. To enhance this across-nation cooperation 21 Danish students are currently being hosted by their Polish colleagues. Then, in spring next year the roles will change and Polish students together with their teachers will visit their Danish friends at their hometown. And as the students admitted, such visits and personal contacts are the best way to learn more about each other.
From the Corps’ perspective for which multinational cooperation is of greatest value, such projects, even at school level, create a background for future fruitful and friendly relations between countries. In fact, they can be a profit not only in the military, but also any other spheres of life.
