Slovak families´ meeting

E-mail Print PDF

Slovak National Support Element in cooperation with the Family Care Centre organized the first meeting of Slovak families since eight Slovak soldiers have been deployed to Afghanistan.

The main purpose was to inform the families about the current situation of their relatives in Afghanistan. The most frequently asked questions included security measures in the camp, living conditions, accommodation, possibilites of sending letteres and parcels and leisure time. The families were introduced to the facilities the Family Care Centre offers and spent enjoyable time chatting and observing their children playing in the chldren’s corner. As one of the Slovak wife noticed, even in such difficult mission time the HQ MCN NE does not allow them to feel alone. No wonder that the Slovak families are looking forward to meeting during the next family event. The Slovak officers joined the Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast in January 2005. Out of 10 Slovak officers and non-commissioned officers serving at the HQ MNC NE 8 have been deployed to the ISAF X mission in Afghanistan.
