Forty-five people related to the world of army, economy or politics visited the Corps on 17th July 2008. The Multinational Corps Northeast turned out to be an important part of their trip across Poland.
It is always satisfying when visitors come back to our Headquarters. It is especially valuable when they invite more people who are eager to listen about the Corps. For the leader of the group, German Major General (retired) Holzfuss it was already the third visit to the Headquarters. Each time the visit is equally interesting to him as it proves the Corps’ development, either in the form of growing Corps' family, deployment to a mission or in any other way. He notices all the Corps' changes in a broader political context.
Nevertheless, for most of the guests it was the first visit both to Poland and the Corps. It was Colonel Klaus Finck, Chief of the G-3 Division, who presented the idea of the Corps to them. During the briefing the visitors learnt about the Corps' establishment, tasks and development. The mission in Afghanistan was discussed as well. Question-and-answer period was a chance for further discussions.
The visit to the Headquarters is in fact a part of a 12-day trip across Poland. The whole group will have a chance to see not only Szczecin, but also Kołobrzeg, Gdańsk or Poznań, which will definitely show a little bit of the country’s character. It is interesting to notice that the group leader MajGen (ret.) Holzfuss usually organises such "information tours" every two, three years. The participants do not form any kind of association; the group is assembled on the basis of friendship. Most of the people come from Hesse, a German state with Frankfurt am Main as the capital. However, the presence of Americans in the group proves the openness of the whole project.
