HQ MNC NE team took part in an annual exercise ‘Steadfast Cathode’ in Istanbul, Turkey. The exercise was under the lead of the Headquarters Component Command - Land Madrid (HQ CC – Land Madrid).
From 17th to 26th October 2006 over 500 soldiers and civilians from 19 countries, including HQ MNC NE team, took part in an annual exercise ‘Steadfast Cathode’ in Istanbul, Turkey. The exercise was under the lead of the Headquarters Component Command - Land Madrid (HQ CC – Land Madrid).
The training was an essential part of the integration of MNC NE own Communications and Information Systems (CIS) with NATO Core Network. MNC NE participation was related to the requirements for the integration and interoperability with the systems of other NATO members, especially in the context of the future mission in Afghanistan.
During the exercise the interoperability of the equipment in pre-planned configurations was tested in order to work out the most effective set up in the context of the upcoming NATO exercises and worldwide missions. The soldiers were given the chance not only to familiarize with different CIS equipment from NATO partners but also to make good relationships with the participants from other countries.
