briefingThe applause resounded through the lecture room when LtCol Detlef Schachel, Chief of the Visitors and Observers Bureau, finished his presentation on Multinational Corps Northeast (MNC NE).

26 people from Germany, mostly teachers and headmasters, visited Baltic Barracks on 3 March 2009 to get acquainted with the idea of the Corps as well as its tasks, structure, mission in Afghanistan and integration within the home garrison – the city of Szczecin. As a matter of fact, the whole trip was organised by the Armed Forces Office and was part of the seminar on security policy. Apart from visiting the Corps, the itinerary encompassed a series of briefings on among other things challenges and future of the German Armed Forces and security policy.
