Representatives of several municipal institutions of Szczecin, uniformed services and Multinational Corps Northeast (MNC NE) met to discuss details concerning the upcoming celebrations of the Corps' 10th Anniversary. The talks were held on 16 March in Baltic Barracks.
The celebrations of the Corps' 10th Anniversary are planned for September 2009. Since the whole event is organised in close cooperation with the city of Szczecin, a conference was held to coordinate common efforts and responsibilities and to plan all the details. Among the participants, there were representatives of the City Council, Maritime Affairs Office, Szczecin International Fair, Castle of Pomeranian Dukes, commandants of the Police, Fire Brigade, Municipal Police, representatives of the Military Police, 12th Mechanized Division as well as members of HQ MNC NE with Colonel Peter Baierl as a leader.
As one of the conference participants Lieutenant Colonel Krzysztof Płoucha from HQ MNC NE said, the aim of the conference was to coordinate all undertakings and efforts related to the celebrations of the 10th Anniversary and dividing tasks and responsibilities to given institutions and people. The talks referred, for example, to discussing a detailed course of events, setting places for all projects and events related to the celebrations and deciding upon the organisation of the road traffic and parking policy.
The conference turned out to be a success since the participants agreed upon all issues discussed. It is now clear who is responsible for what and this should accelerate the preparations for the Anniversary. As Lieutenant Colonel Płoucha said, the time for working in working groups has started. Experts in given subjects both from the Corps and the outside will make sure the celebrations are planned and prepared in the best way possible.
