"Thank you for your excellent service, friendship and approach to the personnel", said Commander of the Multinational Corps Northeast (MNC NE) Lieutenant General Zdzisław Goral when presenting the Corps Medal of the Multinational Corps Northeast to Colonel Andrzej Gołębiewski.
"Logistics is not everything but there is nothing without logistics"
Colonel Gołębiewski finishes his service in HQ MNC NE after 6 years –
"I have served at a NATO unit for the first time and, I have never encountered such unique atmosphere and cooperation", said Colonel Gołębiewski. As Chief of G-4 Division, he was responsible for Logistic Operations, Logistic Planning, Movement and Transportation, and Medical Operations and Planning, a crucial area in each headquarters. Quoting Colonel Gołębiewski’s merits from the letter of appreciation, as "a very well educated and experienced officer of remarkable independence, good judgment and stalwart leadership, Colonel Gołębiewski stimulated and actively professionalized not only his own Division, but also the whole issue of operational thinking and planning within the HQ". His personal contribution and dedication to work significantly enhanced numerous Corps’ undertakings, including the Compact Eagle exercise in 2005, which resulted in achieving Full Operational Capability by the Headquarters, and preparation process for the mission in Afghanistan in 2007. As a matter of fact, he himself served in Afghanistan as Chief of Logistics in Headquarters ISAF, sharing his deep and broad operational experience with soldiers in the field and back here, at the Headquarters.
In order to honour his professional approach and military achievements as well as Colonel Gołębiewski’s charm and openness, a special award ceremony was organised on 31 March 2009. In the presence of all Chiefs of the Headquarters Divisions, Commander MNC NE Lieutenant General Goral presented the Corps Medal of the Multinational Corps Northeast to Colonel Gołębiewski.
Colonel Gołębiewski was deeply touched by the ceremony and said, "I am very happy that you appreciated the work I have done". "It is very important for me that I have received this medal. I have entered the group of those who rendered great service to the Corps and I am fully satisfied with that", he added.
