22 members of the Ladies Club decided to strengthen their friendship and, taking advantage of excellent spring weather, to spend some time together. Wrocław, one of the most beautiful cities of Poland, turned out to be the best place for it.
In a multinational group representing several nations of the Corps, in which there was only one Polish lady, members of the Club set off for a journey on 24 April 2009. As chairman of the Ladies Club Mrs Christina Stolp explained, they decided to use public transport and, therefore, even buying a train ticket was quite an experience.
Three days in Wrocław
"It was really funny and nice although we did not have that much sleep", said Mrs Stolp laughing and presented a rich programme of the trip. As soon as the ladies arrived in Wrocław, they went for a common dinner, after which the participants went either to a music bar or had a stroll in the city centre. As a matter of fact, the second day was the busiest as the ladies went sightseeing. They did not use a comfortable bus; on the contrary, they walked to have a closer look at the city. A professional tourist guide was very helpful in presenting the most remarkable and interesting places in the city. "Everybody enjoyed that even though it was rather tiring", Mrs Stolp said. During that day, the ladies also had some time to spend on their own but they all met during a common dinner again in a traditional Polish restaurant, where they tried, for example, borsht or "szaszłyki". Afterwards, they went to the first Polish microbrewery, where they continued chatting. The ladies created a real multinational environment and used English all the time, emphasized the chairman of the Club.
Sunday was the last day of this very fine trip. Mrs Chairman said that "everyone left Wrocław with a smile and this was the most important". This may implicate that common events of that kind will be repeated in the future.
Ladies Club is an organisation for spouses of soldiers serving at the Headquarters. Members of the club create a community of friends supporting each other in need and spending a lot of time together.
