Colonel Peter Hauser, Chief of the Air Operations Co-ordination Centre (AOCC), an air unit collocated with the Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast (HQ MNC NE) was deeply honoured when being decorated with the Silver Medal of the Polish Armed Forces.
"Dziękuję bardzo"
The award ceremony took place on 29 April 2009 during a monthly meeting of all military personnel of the Headquarters. On behalf of the Polish Minister of Defence Mr Bogdan Klich, Commander of the Multinational Corps Northeast Lieutenant General Zdzisław Goral decorated a German Colonel Peter Hauser with the Silver Medal of the Polish Armed Forces. This award was presented to him as the acknowledgement of merits in the field of cooperation between multinational units, among which there were units of the Polish Armed Forces. As Colonel Hauser said, he was deeply honoured and moved with this decoration. He said “Dziękuję bardzo” in Polish, which means “thank you very much”, as a sign of his close relations to Poland and Polish people.
"Aerial" merits
Colonel Hauser has been recognized for his exceptional service and exemplary military skills. As Chief of the Air Operations Co-ordination Centre, he performed his tasks and coordinated work of other people in an exemplary manner. Not only did he improve existing staff procedures, he also developed new ones. With his considerable experience and authority, Colonel Hauser supported soldiers from the Corps’ ten nations and significantly contributed to their integration. He was involved in numerous conferences, seminars and exercises, both in Poland and abroad, including those undertakings that enhanced the integration of the Polish Armed Forces within the NATO structures. However, his activities went beyond military duties as he took an active part in the cultural life of Szczecin and the region promoting a positive image of Poland.
Silver Medals of the Polish Armed Forces are given to either foreigners or Poles living abroad in recognition for exceptional activities in the field of cooperation between the Polish Armed Forces and armed forces of other countries.
