Just a very few days left before the MNC NE 10th Anniversary celebrations, the preparations are getting intensified – organisers are buttoning all the things up, soldiers are training marching, and more information on the Corps is reaching the public through the second news conference and the latest Corps’ exhibition located in front of the City Hall in Szczecin.
On 16 September, representatives of the City Hall and Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast (HQ MNC NE) met with media during the second news conference (the first one took place on 26 August 2009) devoted to the 10th Anniversary of Multinational Corps Northeast.
The news conference was organised in front of the City Hall as it was combined with opening the exhibition titled "Multinational Corps Northeast – past and future".
Mr Robert Grabowski welcomed all journalists and guests, and introduced the speakers representing organizers of the celebrations of MNC NE 10th Anniversary at Wały Chrobrego on 19 and 20 September 2009. "The most important is still ahead of us", said Mr Piotr Wachowicz, Director of Promotion and Information Office, who addressed the gathered as first and summarized all undertakings leading to the celebrations. He underlined excellent cooperation between the City and the Headquarters, and explained the reasons for the City to engage in the event so intensively. First of all, it was because the Corps has actually become deeply rooted into Szczecin community. Secondly, multinational character of the Corps is very much in line with the ideas that are so crucial for Szczecin, such as openness, tolerance, and multicultural mosaic.
Lieutenant Colonel Wojciech Wiśniewski, spokesperson for HQ MNC NE, emphasized the fact that celebrations of the Corps’ 10th Anniversary would not be possible in the way they have been planned without the support and engagement of the City. Afterwards, he focused on the exhibition “Multinational Corps Northeast – past and future”, which in chronological order presents all achievements of the Corps from the early beginning up to current preparations for the mission in Afghanistan and the mission itself starting in 2010. Lieutenant Colonel Wojciech Wiśniewski finished his speech with an invitation for the upcoming MNC NE celebrations. "It will be an unforgettable experience", he said. "Together with the City we have prepared lots of attractions for the public". Details concerning municipal offer were presented by Mr Jerzy Raducha, Director for Maritime Affairs.

"Multinational Corps Northeast – past and future"
"Multinational Corps Northeast – past and future" is already the fourth exhibition devoted to Multinational Corps Northeast prior to 10th Anniversary Celebrations. Its aim is to present events shaping the Corps’ history in a chronological order. Thanks to lots of photos, extracts from newspapers and short descriptions, each viewer can learn a lot about Multinational Corps Northeast – its past, current undertakings and future mission in Afghanistan. The exhibition will be displayed in front of the City Hall in Szczecin for at least 3-4 weeks.
Other Corps' exhibitions can be found at the Szczecin Underground Museum (under the Main Railway Station), in the Presidential Gallery in the City Hall and at Szczecin National Museum.
