The Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Radosław Sikorski visited the families of the personnel of the Multinational Corps Northeast (MNC NE) deployed to Afghanistan. His visit at the Family Care Centre took place on 14 March 2010.
The most important point in the programme was meeting the families at the Family Care Centre, though. “I know how difficult the service might be and I think I can imagine what you feel,” said the Minister to the gathered families. “But Afghanistan absorbs. It is a real adventure for a young man,” he also added. The Minister asked about previous experiences from Afghanistan and the ladies readily shared their views about the last Corps' deployment to Afghanistan in 2007. They also talked about the current living and working conditions in Kabul. Minister Sikorski asked among other things about daily contacts with the servicemen in Afghanistan and areas in which he could offer his assistance.
At the end of the meeting, Minister Sikorski gave flowers and gifts to ladies and children.
