The HQ MNC NE football team won 8:1 in the match with the representatives of the military played on 28 April 2010 as part of Szczecin’s Amateur Football League.
The 3rd edition of Szczecin’s Amateur Football League Red Box was initiated on 29 March 2010. Teams taking part in matches represent companies, schools, institutions, media agencies and uniformed services of Szczecin and its vicinity. One of them is playing under the aegis of the Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast (HQ MNC NE) with members from the Headquarters, Polish National Support Element and Headquarters Company. The team gained respectively fourth and third places in its group in previous seasons.
This time, after four matches played by HQ MNC NE within the 1st League – Group A, the team took the second place in the table. However, there are 12 teams altogether in each of two groups and only two best teams from a group go through to the Extra League. Lots of emotions in sports competition for the highest scores in the upcoming matches are therefore expected. The matches are planned to finish by the end of June. The best teams will be awarded with well-deserved cups.
Football enthusiasts meet regularly in week days and play matches to increase their skills and simply have a good time. In spite of the effort involved, Warrant Officer Marek Nowicki, Captain of the HQ MNC NE team, underlined the importance of sports rivalry for them and the possibility to represent the Headquarters beyond the Baltic Barracks.
