From 3 to 5 May 2010, the Commander of the Multinational Corps Northeast (MNC NE) Lieutenant General Rainer Korff visited Denmark, the Corps’ Framework Nation to discuss the Corps related issues.
The next point in the itinerary was Karup where the Danish Army Operational Command is located. Lieutenant Colonel Tommy Kjær, the Danish Co-Chairman at the Corps Committee, joined the Corps delegation during the meeting with the Commander of the Danish Army Operational Command Major General Niels Henrik Bundsgaard. Consequently, also the Corps matters raised during the last Corps Committee Meeting were discussed.

The Corps Commander spent the last day of the trip in Copehagen where he met the Danish Minister of Defence Gitte Lillelund Bech and discussed e.g. the strategic role of Multinational Corps Northeast in the region, the integration of new partners as well as the current structure review. After this meeting, the Commander also paid a visit to Lieutenant General Bjørn Bisserup, Chief of Staff of Defence Command and Deputy Chief of Defence.
All in all, the Commander assessed the visit as worth and fruitful resulting in common understanding of the issues vital to the Corps further development.
