There were giant inflatable slides, toys, small gifts, delicious food and lots of other attractions. And even though the warm, sunny weather was rather missing, no child taking part in the Children’s Day on 1 June 2010 seemed to notice it.
It was a common event organised by the Family Care Centre and Headquarters Company to celebrate the international Children’s Day and make this day unique for the youngest members of the Headquarters. First, there were small gifts given to all children as “the starters”. Then, everybody tasted delicious grilled food. Finally, the “dessert” came in the form of games and other attractions.
Each child could find something that suited him or her best. There were giant slides for courageous adventurers who enjoyed height and speed. There was paining on faces or bodies which made it possible to change oneself into princesses, cats or fairies. Eyes of young boys were directed at police motorbikes and other police vehicles delivered by the Traffic Police Department of the City Police Headquarters and the Prevention Department of the Province Police Headquarters. They could not only touch it, but also sit on the motorbike and feel like a policeman for a moment. An interesting attraction prepared by the policemen was also the radar checking the speed of running children. Each child wanted to be the fastest and waited for the results with great curiosity. Everybody fond of martial arts could also do some karate with instructors.
All in all, it was a fine event with lots of attractions for children who could feel it was really Their Day. Seeing all those beaming faces, nobody had the slightest doubts they really enjoyed being at Baltic Barracks.
