The delegation of the Multinational Corps Northeast (MNC NE) headed by the Corps' Commander Lieutenant General Rainer Korff participated in the celebration of the third anniversary of the Command Support Brigade (CSB) held in Wałcz on 19 June 2010.
The Command Support Brigade is a unit assigned to the Corps for exercises, operations and missions. Even though the CSB Headquarters is located in Stargard Szczeciński in Poland, its subordinated battalions are located elsewhere: the Polish 100th Signal Battalion, 104th Support Battalion and 102nd Force Protection Battalion (the last one being formed only if necesary) are situated in Wałcz whereas the German 610th Signal Battalion is stationed in Prenzlau in Germany. Additionally, the Headquarters Polish National Support Element and Headquarters Company from Szczecin and Garrison Club Wałcz are also subordinated to the CSB Commander.
The guard of honour of the 100th Signal Battalion, the colours of the 100th Signal, 610 Signal Battalion and 104 Support Battalions as well as representatives of subordinated units and CBS Headquarters being accompanied by the Military Band of the 12th Mechanized Division from Szczecin gathered at Wolności Square in the city centre of Wałcz to commemorate the third anniversary of CSB. Among the invited guests there were e.g. municipal and regional authorities of Wałcz and Stargard Szczeciński, representatives of the Land Forces Command, the 12th Mechanized Division and other uniformed services. Multinational Corps Northeast was represented by the Commander Lieutenant General Rainer Korff, his Deputy Major General Ryszard Sorokosz and Chief of Headquarters G6 Division Colonel Norbert Hanish. The Commander of the Headquarters Company Captain Wojciech Wiczyński and Chief of the Polish National Support Element Major Jerzy Łuckoś as well as Commanders of CSB battalions also took part in the celebration. Moreover, the former MNC NE Commander Lieutenant General (ret.) Zdzisław Goral attended the ceremony, too.
The CSB Commander Colonel Jarosław Mika addressed all the gathered guests, soldiers and inhabitants of Wałcz. He mentioned major achievements of CSB and its full integration within the region. He stressed the readiness of CSB to fulfil all tasks within the multinational environment. He admitted that nobody was surprised that the German battalion was an integral part of CSB. "We are one organism," Colonel Mika said. "We are an excellent example of German-Polish cooperation within the Alliance," Colonel Mika added. He also thanked all soldiers for their dedication to work for the sake of the Command Support Brigade. Finally, a very important part of the celebration was awarding CSB servicemen with medals and decorations.

As soon as the military celebration at Wolności Square was over, the military picnic started in another area of Wałcz. Among the attractions prepared for the participants there were concerts, competitions and military equipment displayed by the battalions of CSB and 12th Mechanized Brigade from Szczecin. Everyone could see e.g. armoured vehicles, howitzers, reconnaissance vehicles, signals equipment and many other military items of equipment.
The celebration of CBS anniversary was combined with "the Midsummer Eve with the Army", co-organised with the city authorities in late Saturday evening and night.
