The delegation of the Multinational Corps Northeast (MNC NE) participated in an annual holiday of the Szczecin Municipal Wardens held on 15 September 2010.
It was the 19th birthday of the Municipal Warden Service in Szczecin. The official celebration started with the Holy Mass. Afterwards, all guests gathered at the Poles’ Deed Memorial in the Kasprowicza Park. Over there, the two wardens ressed in medieval clothes presented a short history of municipal warden service. “You, the municipal wardens, are the heroes of this day”, stressed the Commandant of Szczecin Municipal Warden Service Leon Gajewski to his ubordinates. He also welcomed all the gathered guests from the municipal, local and regional authorities, all uniformed services in Szczecin as well as members of municipal warden services from other cities and residents of Szczecin. The Multinational Corps Northeast was represented by the Corps’ Chief of Staff Brigadier General Morten Danielsson and the servicemen of the Corps’ three Framework Nations: Danish Major Bjarke Therkildsen, German Carsten Heß and Polish Lieutenant Colonel Jarosław Przybyła.
“You are fulfilling your role in a praiseworthy manner” – with these words the City Mayor Mr Piotr Krzystek addressed the municipal wardens. “Thank you for you dedication to work,” he also said and noticed the excellent relations among all the uniformed services in Szczecin. The Commandant of the Municipal Warden Service from Warsaw also took the floor and wished further development and satisfaction to all municipal wardens. Then, the promotion ceremony took place. “A municipal warden’s job is a source of both pride and responsibility,” said one of the awarded officers and thanked for the appreciation of their work on behalf of all her colleagues.
The final moment of the ceremony was laying wreaths at the Poles’ Deed Memorial. The wreath of the Multinational Corps Northeast with a blue ribbon has also been placed there as a sign of the Corps’ engagement in all events important for Szczecin, the Corps’ home garrison.
