During the change of command at the Joint Force Command Brunssum held on 29 September 2010, General Egon Ramms handed over his duties to General Wolf Langheld. Among other guests, the Deputy Commander Major General Ryszard Sorokosz, assisted by his Military Adviser Lieutenant Colonel Siegmar Plonka, participated in the ceremony.
The change of command took place in the presence of Admiral James G. Stavridis (US Navy), the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), who took the JFC Brunssum flag from General Ramms and handed it over to General Langheld.
General Ramms, who was also the Commander of the Multinational Corps Northeast from 2004 to 2006, served as the Commander JFC
Brunssum from 2007 to 2010. In this function, he was also supervising the MNC NE staff during their mission in Afghanistan in 2010 as the JFC Brunssum is the higher command to Multinational Corps Northeast during all missions and operations.
Since General Ramms is going to retire, the Grand Tattoo („Großer Zapfenstreich”) ceremony took place in Berlin on 30 September 2010. The Commander of the Multinational Corps Northeast Lieutenant General Rainer Korff participated in this most important ceremonial act performed by the Bundeswehr.
