70 Danish and German guests interested in the history, missions and current issues of the Multinational Corps Northeast (MNC NE) visited the Headquarters this week.
The briefing given to them by Lieutenant Colonel Peter Christensen introduced the concept of the Multinational Corps Northeast, its history, mission and tasks. The guests were especially interested in the recently accomplished mission in Afghanistan and the way life goes in Szczecin, the Corps’ home garrison. Some guests already visited the Headquarters at the beginning of its existence, others served at the Allied Land Forces Schleswig-Holstein and Jutland (LANDJUT), the MNC NE predecessor but definitely all of them were very fond of the visit to Baltic Barracks.
Another group of visitors coming from the German War Grave Commission in Norderstedt arrived in Baltic Barracks on 15 October 2010. Having been welcomed by Master Sergeant Arnold Weber, the German guests gathered at the auditorium to listen to a briefing on the Multinational Corps Northeast delivered by Lieutenant Colonel Lothar Hoffmann.
The idea of the association is to take care of graves of Germans who died during the World War II both in Germany and abroad. For that reason, a part of their visit to Poland will be wreath laying ceremony at one of cemeteries in the vicinity of Szczecin.
