More than 600 soldiers from Command Support Brigade (CSB) and its subordinate units – the Polish 100th Signal Battalion, 104th Support Battalion, 102nd Force Protection (supported by 12th Command Battalion of 12th Mechanized Division) and German 610th Signal Battalion – participated in Compact Grey Exercise, conducted from 2 to 9 November 2010.
Commander of the Multinational Corps Northeast Lieutenant General Rainer Korff, along with other staff officers from the Corps, visited the exercise site on 8 November 2010. The guests were welcomed by Commander of the Command Support Brigade Colonel Jarosław Mika. General Korff was briefed about the current developments within CBS Headquarters and its subordinate units as well as the status of the exercise. Afterwards, all guests visited among others things one of command posts prepared by German 610th Signal Battalion and support cluster for field command posts arranged by 104th Support Battalion.
“All it all, it gave a very good impression how such set-up looks like,” said Lieutenant Colonel Peter Christensen, one of guests to the exercise site who also admitted he was mostly interested in communications area related to his professional duty.
The exercise ended on 9 November with Holy Mass celebrated at the Garrison Church in Wałcz. „Well done soldiers!” said General Korff afterwards when all exercise participants gathered in the square of Technical Park in Wałcz. Compact Grey 2010 was successfully completed.
