From 14 to 16 December 2010, Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast (HQ MNC NE) hosted delegations from the 2nd Mechanized Corps and Doctrine and Training Centre of the Polish Armed Forces for trilateral talks on mutual cooperation and exchange of experiences.
All the three parties presented structures, missions and tasks of their units as well as concepts of further cooperation. “I do feel that everybody of you is supporting our common objective,” said the Commander of the Multinational Corps Northeast Lieutenant General Rainer Korff. The MNC NE Commander also talked about ways to get closed together. Most of all, he was talking about common training events that would allow to train MNC NE itself on one hand and to train other units by MNC NE on the other hand. Trilateral concept of cooperation General Korff summarized with the words: “we support you and you support us”.
“The cooperation will be based mostly on exercises which are tests for our interoperability. In the preparation process for these exercises, there will be a number of workshops and seminars in which personnel from HQ MNC NE, the 2nd Mechanized Corps and Doctrine and Training Centre will take part. It will increase knowledge of all of us,” said about the cooperation Colonel Krzysztof Król, Chief of the Operational Planning Department from the 2nd Mechanized Corps. “I think the plan we have worked out, referring to our participation as observers in exercises and major undertakings planned in both corps is very good,” added Colonel Władysław Gwizd, Chief of Doctrine and Regulations Department at Doctrine and Training Centre of the Armed Forces.
At the end of the trilateral talks, the MNC NE Commander thanked both delegations for participation: “It will be a success, I am sure about that,” he said. In fact, first results of these trilateral talks will be visible as soon as next year as first common undertakings are planned to take place very soon.
