On 15 June 2011, a multinational shooting competition took place at the Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast (HQ MNC NE), in which participated not only representatives of the Szczecin Corps but also personnel from other units that realize joint tasks and cooperate with MNC NE on a daily basis.

The contest was organized on one of Szczecin’s shooting ranges and conducted in two categories: shooting with a rifle and a pistol.
Each team had an occasion to fire bullets from Polish, Danish and German weapons. The participants were divided into teams representing the MNC NE Command Group, HQ Staff Support and all Divisions from Baltic Barracks but also invited guests from the Air Operations Co-ordination Centre, 12th Mechanized Division, 12th Mechanized Brigade and Command Support Brigade. For their teams the three Corps’ Generals also were gaining points: the MNC NE Commander Lieutenant General Rainer Korff, his Deputy Major General Ryszard Sorokosz and Chief of Staff Brigadier General Morten Danielsson.
Despite the competitive spirit of all participants, the tournament was conducted in a friendly atmosphere and was full of discussions related to weapons and ammunition used there. In this contest, in both categories won the team from the 12th Mechanized Division, the second place received the 12th Mechanized Brigade whereas the third place – G4 Logistics Division from HQ MNC NE. Individually, the best at pistol shooting was German Lieutenant Colonel Olaf Werner from G7 Training and Exercise Division and the rifle competition won Sergeant Janusz Korona from the 12th Mechanized Division.
At the end of the competition, after all the winners were awarded, a barbecue specially prepared for this occasion started. It provided even more opportunities to exchange experiences and talk about the competition itself and weapons used by the different armed forces.
