On 23 September 2011, a group of students from the Polish School located in Biały Bór visited Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast (HQ MNC NE) to familiarize with the Corps’ history, structure, tasks, participation in exercises and missions.
Teachers, tutors and students from the Group of Schools named after Oskar Lange in Biały Bór took the opportunity to visit HQ MNC NE. These students from the three school-leaver classes with the military profile had already participated in a few Polish military units but this time they could feel the multinational military environment of MNC NE while visiting Baltic Barracks. The visit has been organized on the request of a head office of the school as a part of student’s education to give them wider development’s oportunity.
A multimedia presentation which covered various areas of interest was delivered by Major Marcin Czekalski from the Headquarters’ Public Affairs Office. During the presentation, among the other topics, he was talking about the history, structure, missions and role of the Corps as well as its multinational character. Due to the fact that these classes have military profile, the students were especially interested in work and daily life at the Baltic Barracks as well as while the MNC NE staff served at the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) mission in Afghanistan. Next year the students will accomplish their education on this level and some of them are going to begin a real military career.
“For these young people who already tasted some soldiers’ practice during the previous two years when they participated in shootings or military drills, this kind of theoretical education outside the school is an interesting way to deepen the knowledge,” said Mr. Leszek Landwujtowicz, the tutor of the group. “They were positively surprised with high level of cooperation among 11 different nations working in one environment by using English – the NATO language,” he added.
