On 30 September 2011, a group of visitors from the former German Engineer Regiment 75 “Baden” (PiRgt 75) paid a visit to Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast (HQ MNC NE).
The main part of this visit all guests spent participating in a presentation delivered by Lieutenant Colonel Bjarne Hoejgaard Jensen – Chief of Logistic Operations Branch from the Headquarters’ Logistic Staff Division. During the presentation, the guests especially paid attention not only to the history, tasks, and role of the Corps, but also to how the cooperation between the three Framework Nations, i.e. Denmark, Germany and Poland, looks.
“We are interested in how the Bundeswehr soldiers have found themselves in this kind of combination where not only soldiers from Denmark, Germany and Poland are working together, but also from other 11 NATO countries,” said Master Sergeant (ret.) Peter Obalski, one of the guests. “We are also interested in how Poland as a Host Nation understands German soldiers working here,” he added.
Bundeswehr organizes this kind of visits to military units not only in Germany, but also outside of the country, in a multinational environment. “This time PiReg 75 had an opportunity to be in Szczecin for the first time. The impressions from today will be presented to the rest of the regiment who could not come to Baltic Barracks as well as to regional and political members,” said Lieutenant Colonel (ret.) Jochen Griesinger from Society of Military and Security Policy.”We will continue to visit other units in the spring next year,” he reassured.
