On 25 October 2011, officer cadets and teaching personnel of the Polish Land Forces Military Academy headed by Colonel Kazimierz Kędzia, PhD, were hosted by Major General Ryszard Sorokosz, PhD, Deputy Commander (DCOM) of the Multinational Corps Northeast (MNC NE) for a military historical trip.
During the visit guests had an opportunity to participate in a multimedia presentation provided by Major Marcin Czekalski from the Headquarters’ Public Affairs Office. The presentation which covered various areas of interest was focused mainly on history, structure, missions and role of the Corps as well as the period of time while the MNC NE staff served at the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) mission in Afghanistan. The delegation was especially interested in the differences of work between national and multinational environment of the example of the Headquarters where representatives of 11 nations serve together.
“It was the first visit of our cadets from our Academy here to the Corps but I hope
that not the last one” – said Colonel Kazimierz Kędzia, the head of the group. “We would like to implement such kind of military historical visits into our permanent training program for cadets. Our graduates will start their officer careers mainly as platoon leaders but we would like to give them every opportunity to be better prepared for their future positions,” he added.
Apart from the visit to HQ MNC NE, the group will also visit other military units located in Szczecin area.
