Representatives of the Multinational Corps Northeast (MNC NE) took part in the Independence Run organised in Goleniów on 11 November.
This year, for the Goleniów run organised for the 23rd time already, also 6 representatives from MNC NE joined in. Lieutenant Colonel Adam Malewicz, Major Andrzej Tynkiewicz and Master Sergeant Thomas Korn from the Headquarters itself, Sergeant Daniel Kajtowski and Sergeant Robert Jachura from the Polish National Support Element and Sergeant Krzysztof Buczek from the Headquarters Company proudly competed for the best places.
Despite the cold weather (it was around 4 degrees centigrade), there have been 346 adult runners ready on the start line. The event of the day was preceded with several short distance runs for both adults and kids. Among them 1 mile run was also executed.
At 14.30 sharp the run started. According to the Baltic Barracks members’ reports, they have achieved “respectable” times. All participants have been awarded with special medals.
The first on the finish line were Mr Witalij Szafar from Ukraine with the time of 29 minutes and 12 seconds while Mrs Agnieszka Ciołek crossed the line as the first female with the time of 33 minutes and 23 seconds.
