Even though each moment is good to make children happy and to do some good deeds for the needy, there is something special about Christmas time as people feel even more willing to share their good hearts with the others. On 7 December 2011, all children of personnel of the Multinational Corps Northeast as well as other children from Szczecin International School were invited to take part in the Saint Nicolas party. Good fun for children combined with charity made the event special.
It is important to underline the charity aspect of the students’ engagement in the event. In fact, as explained by Mrs. Monika Lesner, a teacher of the Polish language from the High School No 1, the students have been collecting money for Michał, an ill boy who needs money for his treatment. The students of one of the classes have been supporting the boy for a year already by not only collecting money but alsoby spending time with him. Thanks to their involvement in the Saint Nicolas party, additional funds will be handed over to Michał to ease at his illness.
The Ladies Club and its chairwoman, Mrs. Victoria Pfützenreuter, also made sure that during Saint Nicolas party no one was hungry or thirsty, so there were hot-dogs, homemade cakes, hot and cold drinks and lots of sweets. But of course, a highlight of the event was an unexpected visit of Santa Claus who brought small gifts to all children.
