Following the idea of Mutual Training Support, members of the Headquarters Multinational Corps Northeast (HQ MNC NE) took part in the exercise Citadel Guibert 2011 in Germany.
Approximately 1700 participants from 15 nations coming from over 36 military units, including 3 representatives from HQ MNC NE, took part in the exercise. The Corps members actively supported the exercise serving in different functional areas, such as Public Affairs and Exercise Control & Situation Centre.
Citadel Guibert 2011 was a joint and multinational Command Post Exercise designed to train HQ RRC-FR as the Land Component Command and to determine the capability to be employed in a NATO operation. The RRC-FR trained and exercised its capability to conduct an Initial Entry Operation within the framework of a United Nations mandate and NATO-led Peace Support Operation.
During the exercise, the soldiers and civilian participants faced broad types of incidents such as: earthquake, Improvised Explosives Device (IED) events, attacks and major logistic incidents.
